Back in the mid 70s there was radio guy (in Memphis, if memory serves) who kept using the word 'reggins' (REE-gins) when referring to things done by some particular group of alleged criminals. It didn't take long to figure out that it was simply the backward spelling of 'nigger'

In an industry segment in which I used to work, there was the term 'mon-backs'. It referred to black tarmac workers who were supposedly mumbling that as they were directing catewring trucks backing away from airplanes.
