Just what was Richard Armitage's position on Iraq?

Just what was Richard Armitage's position on Iraq?
Part of the RW spin is that he was opposed to the invasion of Iraq, so had no axe to grind with Wilson (it was a "casual" leak).

I can't seem to find any evidence that he opposed the invasion (wrong search terms?). Considering he signed the 1998 PNAC letter urging Clinton to remove Saddam, I'm more than a little skeptical.

He is probably willing to walk the plank to avoid Rove et al. spilling the beans about other, much worse criminal activity on his part.
