Beginning on Sunday, Sept. 3, WakeUpWalMart.com will begin a two-day visit of Washington State to conclude the 2006 "Change Wal-Mart, Change America" bus tour that has visited 19 states and 35 cities in 35 days. The stops in Seattle are the last two events of WakeUpWalMart.com's unprecedented cross-country bus tour that has garnered national media and public attention from coast to coast on why Wal-Mart must change into a responsible company.

On Sunday, Sept. 3, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Bumbershoot Festival, Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, in Seattle, WA, 50 local supporters will be canvassing and holding a membership drive to sign up new supporters to WakeUpWalMart.com, America's campaign to change Wal-Mart. Already, WakeUpWalMart.com is one of America's fastest growing social movements with over 257,000 local supporters. While at the Bumbershoot Festival, media interviews with the senior campaign staff from the WakeUpWalMart.com campaign are available by request.

On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m., at 1119 Eighth Avenue (at Seneca), in Seattle, Senator Patty Murray and Senator Maria Cantwell will co-host WakeUpWalMart.com's final "Change Wal-Mart, Change America" town hall meeting.

Speakers at the Seattle event will discuss why and how Wal- Mart can change into a responsible employer that provides good wages, offers affordable health care, protects American jobs, and lessens the burden on taxpayers in Washington State and across the nation.

At the Seattle Townhall, Paul Blank, former 2004 presidential campaign advisor to Howard Dean, and Chris Kofinis, former presidential campaign advisor to Wesley Clark, will present a PowerPoint presentation entitled "A Costly Truth." The presentation is modeled on Vice President Al Gore's recent movie, "An Inconvenient Truth."
