The US Homeland Security keeps you safe tonight!
From what you ask? Fake Air Jordans! No shit!

The US says it has seized more than 135,000 fake Nike running shoes, smashing one of the largest counterfeit smuggling rings in recent history.

The US Homeland Security and Justice departments said they had disrupted "one of the largest counterfeit merchandise smuggling schemes uncovered in recent US history".

1. Fighting for corporations. . . their first priority.
Our armed services are also employed in this capacity.

2. Well, damn. If they'll keep me safe from overpriced sneakers, then all the
privacy rights they want me to give up will be worth it, indeed.

3. They have time to sniff sneakers
yet on Lake Erie if you need to check in with Homeland Security they shut the video phone down at 10:00PM. The border rolls up at 10:00PM!! That is so upsetting.

7. When a boater returns from Canada
they are required to check in with the US on a video phone. I assume it is called Homeland Security, formerly know as Immigration. We travel back and forth frequently and the last time we tried to check in the phone was not working. When we called the Sandusky office the next day we were informed that the video phone is not manned after 10:00PM. Go figure. By the way, it's good to talk to another Erie Boater!

8. i'm in dry dock in the back yard
two years now, refitt and gas prices. went out a couple weeks ago with a guy out of astabulla and I thought we crossed over, not sure, never heard of the vid phones.

I deal with CG toledo when we bring barges in for unload, will have to check out their take and recommendations since my old 1976 cabin cruiser is somewhat primitive on navigation EQ.

thanks for the heads up.

4. Who in the hell is watching for terrorist?
Did the think they would capture another shoe bomber if they busted a counterfeit ring?

This is total bull shit. These cases that are propagandized by the HSD or what ever acronym they use should be FBI or local law enforcement. When I saw that picture on TV with the Homeland Seal surrounded by tennis shoes, it blew me away.

Total Bull Shit.

6. The DHS is a useless bloated bureaucracy dedicated to keeping...
their own pockets lined with money.
