Cheney Accuses Democrats of 'Defeatism'

By SCOTT BAUER
The Associated Press
Monday, September 25, 2006; 7:10 PM

MILWAUKEE -- Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that Democratic leaders aren't doing enough to fight terrorism and said Americans must "reject any strategy of resignation and defeatism in the face of determined enemies."

<<snip>>

"We have to stay on the offensive until the danger to civilization is removed," Cheney told about 110 people at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

Cheney attacked Democrats for turning their backs on Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., after his loss in the primary to anti-war candidate Ned Lamont.

He took Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean to task for saying the capture of Saddam Hussein has not made America safer and accused Dean and Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., of advocating what Cheney called a failed policy of retreat in the war against terrorism.

The vice president chided Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada for opposing the Patriot Act and suggesting the U.S. should not have invaded Iraq, even if it meant leaving Saddam in power.

1. Hey Cheney you asshat! No one cares what you have to say.
"We have to stay on the offensive until the danger to civilization is removed"

The absurdity of that statement knows no bounds - it's IMPOSSIBLE to achieve. :silly:

5. isn't that strange....
....Cheney has a problem with the Good Doctor and the Honorable John Murtha but somehow embraces you, Joe?....hmmmm, strange company you're keeping, Good-Democrat Joe....

....didn't your Mother ever tell you that you're known by the company you keep?....unless, you and Cheney really aren't that close?....and maybe Cheney's trying to discredit you and elect Lamont?....

....but do you disavow what Cheney says?....why does Cheney, the great Democrat-Hater, like you so much, Joe, the Good-Democrat Joe, why?....

We will Uncle Dicky, we will.
Once you and the rest of the * administration are well behind bars at the Hague, the danger to civilization will be removed.

Strange how every once in a while he actually tells the truth.

14. cheney accusations
In OUR country we have primary elections. This is done so that somebody, such as Mr Lamont, can challenge the incumbent. The democrat voters in the state chose to vote more for Mr Lamont. Mr. ex haliburton, you should know that this is called democracy, why don't you and the party you belong to try it? You may even grow to like it!

29. The lot that made sure Joe Lieberman would never be VP...
....has suddenly become his best friends? :eyes: Come on! I remember the crappy GOP staffers who staged a riot during the vote count in Florida and the nearly as crappy GOP operative who came up with the demand that Al Gore "get out of Dick Cheney's house." :eyes: Memo to the GOP: The Naval Observatory is not and never will be "Dick Cheney's house." He and his unpleasant wife are the guests of the American people.

Also, it's quite remarkable how big a man's mouth gets and how tough his stance becomes when he doesn't have to seek serial deferments anymore. Cheney reminds me of a brat in the zoo tormenting a caged animal.
