The Big Dawg is coming to help Jim Webb (D-VA candidate)!!

:bounce:

I got my personal invitation to the reception (October 19) in the mail today. Now, if I can just find $28000 lying around so that I can attend. ;)

This is exactly what Webb needs--an infusion of cash to buy TV ads to offset the barrage of Felix Junior's ads--and greater attention to his campaign from people that Virginians love.

8. are you aware of the huge growth in NoVA since 1996?

http://www3.ccps.virginia.edu/demographics/estimates/2005/0-main.html

NoVA is very blue and delivered the votes for Govs. Mark Warner & Tim Kaine (both Ds). These voters see Pres. Clinton as far superior to the dimwit currently residing in the office, even someone that some of them failed to appreciate at the time. Furthermore, the Hampton Roads area voters, like NoVA, are mighty pissed about the state Rethuglicans' refusal to do anything about their massive transportation problems. The business community, traditionally supportive of Republicans, is furious and organizing to defeat Republicans in the next election. Although Allen (R) is not involved with this, surely there will be carry-over as even traditional Rethug voters are starting to understand that all these problems they are seeing at all levels of govt. are a systemic problem rather than a problem with this incumbent or that.

It is high time that the national Dems stop thinking of Virginia as a rural backwater that supports only Rethugs.--they can't afford to be so unaware of changes. Hillary Clinton was here yesterday to help Webb--good for her. Now Schumer and the others need to get the $ flowing to offset all these negative and misleading Allen ads constantly on TV. During presidential elections, even the most recent one where Edwards could have helped them significantly in the state, the national Dems have refused to invest time or $. Defeat became a self-fulfilling prophecy.

He seems like a decent guy and he actually wants the seat. He's not running for anything else.
