The Rethugs are the masters of the smear they would like nothing better than to turn all the public outrage around and shove it right back into our faces.

I'll bet that within a week, probably less, Rove will have come up with a list of Dems who have a thing for boys, Dems who have a thing for girls who are really boys, and Dems who used to get woodies in the shower after gym class. And we can't forget the more conventional Dems who are sleeping or have slept with a woman who is not their wife or who have slept or are sleeping with a man who is not their husband.

Unfortunately there are probably some folks on our side who are not sleeping well right now no matter who they are sleeping with.

I have been concerned about this turning in the other direction. We delude ourselves if we think that these types of sexual problems only happen to Republicans. If you were Rove and knew about Foley wouldn't you be prepared to eventually fight fire with fire, and some of the fire might actually have flames and not be just smoke. The thing that the Democrats need to hit the Republicans with is not that Foley was crossing the lines with the pages, but that the Republicans knew about it long ago and tried to hide it or cover it up. I know that is what is being done and that is a better tact to take rather than portraying Republicans as dirty old men.
What got Nixon in more trouble? The act, or the cover up?

I think Thom Hartmann was also saying something along those lines and I agree. It was the cover up that nailed Clinton as well.
