Dear Dr. Dobson,
It is strange to see you being so quiet all of a sudden. It seems like you have just disappeared and I am really wanting to hear your insight Dr. Dobson, because you seem to have a great deal in common with Mark Foley.
All you have to do is look at this passage on your
website to know just where you stand on the Foley issue.
"Meanwhile, the boy's father has to do his part. He needs to mirror and affirm his son's maleness. He can play rough-and-tumble games with his son, in ways that are decidedly different from the games he would play with a little girl. He can help his son learn to throw and catch a ball. He can teach him to pound a square wooden peg into a square hole in a pegboard. He can even take his son with him into the shower, where the boy cannot help but notice that Dad has a penis, just like his, only bigger."
Dr. Dobson, you are the only person I know of who advocates for fathers to take a shower with their sons in order to compare penis sizes. This really seems like a view that Foley would share with you so why don't you just go on the news and speak out? No one is representing Foley right now, he needs you Dr. Dobson. Most of us may disagree with what you are saying, but unlike the theocrats you prop up we allow people to express their viewpoints.
So stand up James Dobson and defend your party from us liberal heathens who believe it is wrong for a Congressman to make sexual advances on children. If you don't speak out now we are going to win this debate Mr. Dobson, and then you will lose your precious theocratic aristocracy that you hold so dear.
I have yet to hear a word from you though Dr. Dobson, but at least you had a spokesperson come out and say something on behalf of Focus on the Family. Here is what
http://www.focusaction.org/press/A000000220.cfm">he said:
"Those truly interested in protecting children from online predators should spend less time calling for Speaker Hastert to step down, and more time demanding that the Justice Department enforce existing laws that would limit the proliferation of the kind of filth that leads grown men to think it's perfectly OK to send lurid e-mails to 16-year-old boys."
So let me get this straight Mr. Dobson, apparently there is nothing wrong when Hastert completely ignores the existing law, but we need to spend more time time demanding that the Justice Department enforces the existing law. Wow, Dr. Dobson I really admire this level of consistency. Your spokesperson actually made it a whopping nineteen words into his really long sentence before completely changing his position.
Your spokesperson of course had a bit more to say than that little bit in his statement however Dr. Dobson, he also remembered who is really to blame for this whole incident.
"If any lasting cultural good could come out of this awful incident, it would be Americans discarding the politically correct notion fed to us by those on the left that obscenity is just another form of free speech."
Yes, Mr. Dobson it is those of us that support free speech who are responsible for this whole mess. Never mind that you won't find a single one of us who supports middle-age men soliciting sex from minors that he is in a position of power over. Only your party supports that form of speech. Your organization just know that we don't want to ban every thing you disagree with so we are somehow responsible for what the man your people elected did.
So keep ignoring this issue Mr. Dobson, we know where you really stand. You stand for sexual predators.
Signed,
An American who believes that people who want to compare their penis size with their children's have serious issues.
