Daddy's "study group" on Iraq?
We had a LTTE in this morning's paper which discussed a study group that Daddy B has enlisted to come up with a way forward in Iraq. The 10-member group consists of: James Baker, Sandra Day O'Connor, Rudi Giuliani, Vern Jordan and former Demo Congressman Lee Hamilton, among others. They have agreed to wait until after the election to release their findings and suggestions, and have agreed to not spend much time rehashing the Bush administration's mistakes.

"One top source told the Washington Post that the group came away fron its trip to Iraq sobered at the situation there and doesn't believe the U.S. can keep on as it has."

She goes on to say, "So, this to-the-rescue study group has agreed to help Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld out, and Dubya agreed to let them function, but not speak until the election. He has not yet agreed to listen and follow their advice, though."

I must be getting old. I don't recall any discussion of this group on DU.

3. Here's a link for you....
Poppy is definitely behind it, and check out the members, all the usual suspects, even the Democrats. These will be the people that ultimately figure out how to get us the hell out of there.

8. Thank you! I don't know how I missed that...
...I've been waiting for the sound of thundering hoofbeats from Poppy coming to the rescue. (Not that he could offer much more than his experience in helping the kid out of trouble.)

It will be interesting to see their report.

7. He's gotta be bullshit, too...still can't go 'mano a mano' with the old
man...ole Poppy, old, frail and age spotted, is twenty times the leader that the wee cowboy will ever be...not that this makes Poppy Mount Rushmore material in the big scheme of things, but it keeps him out of the bottom five if he can come up with a way out of his stupid son's messes...!
