U.S. DOD lists all military deaths after May 1, 2003 - Post Combat
Every soldier who has been killed after May 1, 2003, according to the defense department, is a "Post Combat" fatality.

139 soldiers died during the "Combat" phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom

2581 have been killed after combat ended May 1st 2003.

I don't know about you but it sounds like the "combat" phase of OIF was the safer tour of duty for soldiers.

When did bush declare, "Mission Accomplished"? Is that when the "combat" phase of operations ended and we started being greeted with sweets and flowers?

2. a soldier my husband knew died this weekend
My husband worked with him up until last fall (if I remember right). It's all very depressing.
