Response to my email from my freeper brother
I recently forwarded this email to my freeper brother (I guess, hoping for some kind of reasonable dialog):

Subject: Help save our children from predators
Date: Tue, 3 Oct 2006 09:27:38 -0700 (PDT)
>Regardless of your political affiliation, all good people share a deep revulsion over the
>sexual exploitation of children. Imagine if it was your child or grandchild who was the
>victim of an adult predator. No child should suffer that fate.
>
>We now have all learned that Representative Mark Foley is a sexual predator who has at a
>minimum been sending sexually inappropriate messages to minors working in Congress. We
>also know that Foley had a liaison with at least one of these minors and has attempted to
>arrange meetings with several others. It remains to be known whether he raped any
>children, but that certainly seems like a possibility given what we do know.
>
>For the past year, members of the Republican leadership in Congress, by their own
>admission, have been aware of this inappropriate conduct. It appears that nothing has
>been done to stop this behavior or to discipline Mr. Foley. Even after finding “naughty
>emails” (as the President’s spokesperson calls them), the Republican leadership in
>Congress permitted Mr. Foley to participate actively in the Congressional Page program.
>The Republican leaders quite simply chose political expediency over protecting children
>from a known predator.
>
>The American people deserve to know the lengths that Republican Congressional leaders
>will go to protect their political power. There must be a full investigation of who knew
>what about Foley’s sexcapades and what was done to stop it. Additionally, any leader who
>acted to coverup this activity, sacrificing children in the process, must resign from
>Congress.
>
>Here is a link to the contact information for members of Congress:
>http://www.visi.com/juan/congress / Contact your congressional rep and demand that they
>investigate Foley and his enablers in Congress.
>
>Please forward this to everyone you know!

This was his response:

Rhiannon
I would like to keep politics out of this since both major parties have plenty of skeletins in their closets, or out of their closets as may be the case. However, if Mr. Foley is in fact a predator of children, I would volunteer to execute myself if given the opportunity. Lifelong sexual predators are like lifelong serial killers. They are like rabid dogs, they cannot be cured, and are a danger to society wherever they are (even in maximum security) and should be promptly executed to protect society and the greater good.
Love you,
Chuck

:wtf: Were we talking about EXECUTION? Jeez! And he's a rabid pro-lifer!

5. We have the same parents, were born only 16 months apart,
but apparently on very different planets. We've been arguing about everything our whole lives. He thinks I'm stupid, but I KNOW he is! O8) :evilfrown:

3. Torture and Execution
The result of conservative intellectual curiousity?? He responds in a well trained manner. Let lump everyone together when we look really, really bad.

8. Maybe a pronoun deficiency here too...
I would volunteer to execute (HIM) myself if given the opportunity...

Without that pronoun, it makes no sense, unless he is condemning himself as well, which I don't think is the purpose.
He goes on to say that all sexual predators should be executed, so I think it's a case of the missing pronoun.

In either case, I think he is spouting a bunch of crap.
My RW brother sends me a lot of this stuff, too, so during 2004, I emailed him asking him to not send me any more political email, as I was doubtful he would vote as I did, and I sure as hell wasn't going over to the dark side.

Sometimes you just hafta agree to disagree to keep familial relationships.

6. "I would volunteer to execute myself if given the opportunity."
Man, that's commitment. He's not even guilty of anything yet he volunteers to kill himself if Foley is guilty!

I wonder how many other Republicans are willing to fall on their swords if Foley is guilty?

9. Sure he'd like to keep politics out of this
After all, the GOP doesn't come off looking too good here, does it? But I'll bet he loves him some politics when North Korea might have nukes or we have some more casualties in Iraq that he wants to blame on librul dissent.

Dingbat.

10. You are so lucky
that your brother only volunteered to kill someone else in his response to your letter. My mother and sister have been inundating me with religious right wing crap for four years so last week I took the opportunity to educate them in the ways of our government by offering the link to a documentary. Their indirect response, which was cover copying me on their emails, basically condemned me to hell for being a leftist! Oh well it's funny how right wing Christians respond with killing and nuking those that don't agree with them while people who aren't Christen yet act as a Christian should are condemned. Peace on earth, kim
