1. Gee, maybe we can get some more Shumer Sellouts
and other Dems for the Leisure Class.

Why was it again that people like Dean so much?

8. so I assume you would rather we had Republicans in office?
Schumer and Dean have completely different jobs to do.

what's your job?

Making stupid, divisive posts on Democratic discussion boards?

11. Work harder to avoid false dichotomies, why don't you.
Or does the world really look like that to you?

4. Votes and dollars don't all come from the same place.
The Rape-ohs may not have the votes, but they ALWAYS own the affections of the Corporate Masters of the Universe and therefore have a huge lead in campaign funding over the Democrats.

What obviously is tough is keeping up with the money that the Repugs receive.
I think that the Dems did well and even closed the gap. It's just that there are many more races competitive now. 2006 and 2008 could be good years for the Dems, who knows when this chance comes again?

3. Borrowing money to fund many campaigns in an election cycle
in which your party is poised to do very well is a good strategy. We have a chance to do very well now, much better than people thought just 3 months ago, and suddenly many races which had seemed locks for the Republicans are believed to be competitive. Competitive races are now leaning Democratic. We need a BIG win this time, to dismantle the One Party System of Gov't Bushler, Tom Delay and the RNC have cooked up. A small win won't help that much.
When you got nothin' you got nothing to lose.

6. If there weren't competitive races...
because a good Dem candidate was recruited to run, we wouldn't need the loan, so they were both right.

I honestly don't know what to make about the thread and where it's heading.
I also don't understand why Dean should be attacked for that. We have a unique chance to win important seats but we never had enough money to support all of them.

9. Hold the Phones! Josh Marshall Unknowingly Backs Dean
The conservative, narrow playing field approach seems like the height of folly to me.

If Dems take either house, the oldline of the party will claim it's due to Foleygate and other strategies. If Dems fail, the oldline will blame Dean's 50 State Strategy.

Whatever.

10. then there is the third option that will get the most coverage when we win
"This election will swing on a number of different factors, but all of the success that we have will be attributable to Rahm (Emanuel)" — Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader of the House of Representatives.
