JUBILANT DEMOCRATS SHOULD RECONSIDER their order for confetti and noisemakers. The Democrats, as widely reported, are expecting GOP-weary voters to flock to the polls in two weeks and hand them control of the House for the first time in 12 years -- and perhaps the Senate, as well. Even some Republicans privately confess that they are anticipating the election-day equivalent of Little Big Horn. Pardon our hubris, but we just don't see it.

Democracy is so tenuous. But, then the John Birch society so aptly reminds us, thats what the founders wanted. Power to the people is a huge risk.
Our checks and balances is controlled by a corportate media, and a stacked electoral system. So many media moguls, Like I think it was Frank Rich. Outright calls for a one vote Democratic Majority in the US Congress. Redicilious.
With 95% of the Repug Congress we are dealing with robots brought to us by powerful interests with their memory cells planted within by some corporate clone making operation. They have signed a Grover Norquist statement to destroy the government. You can't compromise with these people and they have a corporate media to reinforce their bull s*** if Democrats should eek out a meager majority. Those not cloned with Norquist's demands are cloned with religious indoctination creating corporate clones of Americans , thinking they are citizens, when actually they are only thought of as consumers.
It would take at least a 58% majority in both houses to bring back democracy and any prospect of free and open debate in the Congress. Then fighting the restoration of democracy is gerrymandered districts and Diebolt.
I say the best solution, become expats. Get the hell out. Or else have that memory chip inserted by our owners.

Our vote-counting system is awful, but not that awful.

demoralize people who would vote Democratic. It is one person's opinion, JIM MCTAGUE, which I would hold very suspect

would retain congress in his newsletter several weeks agao. He was basing it on what "history", and incumbants retaining their seats in the midterm along with whoever wins the Senate history has shown, also wins the house

Frankly, it comes down to this, if we get out and vote in numbers we will win. There is no excuse this time. 20% or less voting turnout is pathetic.

Incidently, Barons predictions a natoriously inaccurate and wrong, and I can state many recommendations or trends, that went the opposite direction of where they said they would go

it will be because they steal some more elections.

The person who wrote that artilce for Barons is someone named JIM MCTAGUE. I have never heard of him but I assume he has a political agenda.

If the Democrats win the House, or even the Senate, is Mr. Mctague going to print an article in Barons how he was wrong? I wouldn't hold my breath. He will be like every financial parasite and baffoon, throw out "predictions", without any consequences or accountability

In my view his opinion isn't even newsworthy. This is pure phsycological warfare to tell people those who would vote Democrat not to waste their time.

Two weeks till midterms, the NEWSWEEK poll shows Republicans in danger of losing a big chunk of their base. And a growing consensus for a bread-and-butter Democratic agenda......

I've been disappointed before, like in 2004.

The "largest campaign war chest" has NOTHING to do with "superior grass roots support."

It simply reflects who the fat cats want.
