Big surprise (not): Richmond Times-Disgrace (Dispatch) endorses Allen

<snip>

Today The Times-Dispatch endorses George Allen for re-election to the U.S. Senate. The Times-Dispatch endorsed Allen for governor and senator, and has had no regrets.

As governor, Allen ranked as one of Virginia's most estimable -- and revolutionary -- of the 20th century. He persuaded a Democratic legislature to abolish parole, dramatically reform both welfare and the juvenile justice system, approve parental notification, and -- to raise academic performance -- establish a Standards of Learning program emulated nationwide.

On the contrary, in standing with a president whose election The Times-Dispatch has twice endorsed as well, Allen's support of the president in combating the 21st century's most serious threat to America and to liberty throughout the world -- speaks persuasively for his Senate re-election.

1. Did You Catch Their Fund Raising Editorial
They talked about how Allen raised 50,000 dollars more than Webb when Bush and Clinton were in VA last week. What they neglected to mention was that Webb/Clinton's fundraiser was held in a private home and filled to capacity, while the Allen/Bush event was held in a museum which could have held hundreds and I doubt there were even 100 people there. What a waste of a newspaper.

I have relatives that live just outside of Richmond and their feeling is that (I suppose from just talking to others)Webb will win this.....

Do you remember who they endorsed for governor?

Anyone...and I mean ANYONE - who votes for Allen after what he's shown himself to be....*shaking head*

Let's just say that it says VOLUMES about THEM.
