Question about committee chairs

If Dems take the house they get to appoint all the committee chairs, right?

In the event that we take the house, who will take Joe Barton's chair on the energy and commerce committee?

The chair of energy & commerce will go to whoever is the senior Democrat on the committee is, I'm not sure who it is, but I'll see if I can find it.

2. The Majority Leader

most likely Nancy Pelosi, will be able to appoint committee chairs. Senior dems on the committees would seem to be the logical choice but she would have the final say.

3. Right and sometimes there are trades to be made...

The ranking Dem on two committees could ask to switch for the leader of their committees.
