Freeper 2000: "Death of Conservatism" (Kristol)
More sewage spit up by Kristol, perhaps the least principled and most opportunistic of all neo-Con pundits (and that's saying a lot). Let's face it, creatures of Kristol's ilk will jump onto any winning bandwagon.

Conservatism has been dying for over a decade now, and the nomination of a swindler like McCain would be the final nail in the coffin of Republican conservatism. Thus, self-professed "conservatives" have two choices: if they are true to their conservative principles of social traditionalism, faith, protecting the unborn, and opposition to economic and geopolitical globalisation, they will leave the GOP in droves. They will find new homes as supporters of Buchanan or the Constitution party.

I just found the FR thread curious in a historical sense. Strange how lower life forms were talking about Bush and their standard bearers before 911. Here's hoping to see tons more "death of conservatism" posts on the Morlock board very soon.

3. "Conservatism has been dying for over a decade now.."
"Conservatism" is a fantasy. Supposedly Reagan is the 'conservative' hero. But Reagan was nothing more than a war-mongering Alzheimer's patient. Yeah, that's right, he was without mental capacity. The 'liberal media' White House press corp used to take bets on when he would 'loose it' next. Too bad our 'liberal media' never told the public about what they saw and were betting on every day. Assholes.

All this blather about 'True Conservatives' is just more batsqueeze. What "they" are referring to is an illusion. If you ask any 'True Conservative' what they actually believe, they would, with the exception of abortion, be considered LIBERALS. Isn't that ironic?

The above freeper post mentions the Constitution Party, which is the political wing of the Reconstructionists. Reconstructionists are the U.S. Taliban equivalent. Reconstructionists have great influence over the current fundamentalist community -- whether they know it or not. This is a big reason these "religious" groups are such a threat to democracy -- whether they know it or not.
