BOSSHOG rules that gays can marry and serve openly in the military
If you can pay taxes, then by god you can have equal protection under the law. The constitution does not exist to carry out the hate agenda of those who live by picking and choosing in the bible to justify their hate.

If your god says (in your head) don't engage in homosexuality then don't, but don't force your fucking beliefs on the entire nation.

The constitution is the law of the land and it is a shield not a weapon.

We'll eventually get there.

2. absolutely agreed. one of my friends sums up the gay marriage
thing this way: "I firmly believe they have the same right to screwed-up relationships as the rest of us do."

4. That'll destroy our military
Just like the gay radioman did on my submarine and the gay quartermaster chief who was my wife's LPO at CINCPACFLT.

A nuclear technician (aft types, we called 'em) reenlisted and got a nice, fat $20K re-up bonus. He then claimed he was gay. Navy policy at that time only dictated that he be given a medical discharge (honorable). He was discharged, married a beautiful girl and bought a new Corvette with his bonus money. He was a hero on our boat for quite some time. The Navy changed the policy after that loophole was exploited a few more times.

Every gay man I served with was qualified, patriotic and hard-working. I had no problem, even in the tight confines of my sub, serving with a gay shipmate.

7. I spent an incredibly large amount of time
dealing with spouse abusers and checkbook abusers and alcohol abusers and racists during my time in Khaki and they were all straight. I knew several gays who served and never had any problem with any of them.

I never understood the notion of not wanting to shower with gay guys but it was alright to shower with straight guys? I have yet to figure that one out. And the love boats in the early 80's?!?

9. It seems that the people who are most afraid of gays seem to have problems
My boat had the usual cast of suspects: Alcoholics, drug-abusers, adulterers and thieves. But the gay shipmates were 4.0 sailors. My wife's LPO was a 4.0 sailor with a crypto clearance. The chief lived with his lover off-base and no one seemed to know or care.

I always felt that you put the best qualified people into a job. Who gives a damn what hole they want to fill in their off hours?

8. Awesome teammate
My wife and I swung by Cafe dumonde last Friday morning and had a wonderful cup of Au-lait and got powdery sugar all over my self while watching the tourists stroll Decatur Street. I think I'll slip back into town next week and do some Christmas Shopping after another nice cup.

11. We've been going to the Quarter
for almost 20 years and love every trip. We try to find a different place to eat every time we go down but it would be impossible to hit all the restaurants in one life time. I like to hang out on the balcony of the Tropical Isle on Friday afternoons nursing a Bud Draft and watching the world stroll by. Its like being on a different planet.
