Dean's credibility problem and the growing Deanial problem
He said he hides his records to protect AIDS patients but the next day reports come out that he had already released private medical records and BEFORE he made the AIDS excuse his campaign said he was hiding the records for political reasons

He denied saying he would abolish medicare until the tapes were shown and now he doesn't deny saying he would but says now he wouldn't.

He said he would support a Iraq resolution that gave Bush a blank check and then criticized other democrats for the same thing

He was asked for the name of his closest relative in the ARMED SERVICES and he said his brother is a MIA, implying his brother was in the ARMED SERVICES

He said he didn't ask Clark to be his VP but it was reported at the time he asked him.

The only responses you ever see to any of these are typical "Deanial" responses which usually is just bashing the messenger.

The more impossible it gets for Dean to win the worse the Deanial syndrome. Dean = 4 more years of *

3. Flame bait, per se.
Might want to read the 'civility' and 'names' rule, while you're at it.

10.  Attention Clark supporters - Please follow DU rules
Please follow the DU rules.

A long time ago, this site was pretty much a Dean lovefest. (I think I can say that)

Since Clark got in the race, much to the chagrin of the early lovefest participants, many DUers now support Wesley Clark.

But we have to be civil and follow the rules. Remember, we are all working toward the same goal - removal of Bush.

That being said, I want to suggest that every time someone complains about, questions, or otherwise comments on Dean's candidacy in a non-laudatory way, it is not bashing, etc.,

If you're going to support your candidate in a fashion respected within an intelligent debate or discussion forum, you must try to discuss the issues, even if you don't like the topic. Killing the messenger is not beneficial. I'm quite sure the GOP will bring a few things up that you don't like, in the unlikely event Dean wins the nomination.

Good luck to all of you, and remember this is Democracy.

6. There are several tactics used to avoid the issues
raised about Dean.

One - as you said, attack the messenger (this is common)

Two - the Rove defense - make some reference to a Rove agent, or say "stop doing the GOP's job for them"

Three - play down the issue - "Who cares, this isn't important"

Four - avoid the issue, bring up another candidate - "Kerry voted for the war!"

It's rare to see the issue actually discussed, or a Dean weakness admitted.

11. Allready discussed...
this board is littered with these ridiculous threads. Popping up by the minute, all issues that have been previously discussed. They are not raised for debate, but only to discredit. Of course people, supporters and others who are fed up, are simply going to dismiss any thread such as this. It gets really old. A new thread for a new hour.

13. don't forget Dean fans taking back the party from the establishment
That's how we got the first four years of *, "GRASSROOTS" Nader wanting to shake up the party.

MOST of DU'ers hate * and are as grassroots as you can get but it doesn't matter....If you don't want Dean to win nomination because you don't want * to WIN IN NOVEMBER you are "the establishment".

15. Yup
That is the Dean campaign's own propaganda, which sadly, seems to have been bought by many of his supporters.

7. Every single one of those problems is a result of his choice to
run away from his record. In his quest for the nomination, he's sealing his defeat in the general. Amazing.

Many Dean supporters may begin to understand this as it gets closer to voting day, but you won't convince the bandwagon jumpers. Such is the nature of the bandwagon.

I want a link to a tape where Dean says "I would abolish Medicare". You claim it exists. You show it.

25. Of course there is
I mean how dare I ask for a tape the author claims exists. That is just mean. If he actually had to provide tapes he claimed existed he couldn't just type whatever comes into his head and that would be just awful. He would have to work. Shame oh shame on me.

21. Quick suggestion
Drop the comments about Dean's brother. Dean's comment was close enough for both Love and War. No thinking person will ever make an issue of it. There are so many meaningful issues to be debated, that is not one of them.

This is multiple poopings recycled into one.

How about some real issues instead of recycled nonsense that's been overargued to death in DU?
