51% to 49%. The basic question is do you approve with the supreme court of New Jersey that gay couples deserve a right to equal protection. Please help counter Freepers in Philadelphia. Poll is at botton right hand corner.

4. Thanks. I went to the rally tonight.
I was a bit disappointed that I brought my automatic camera with me. I didn't really get any good pictures because my camera kept focusing on the balloon strings everywhere. The speakers were pretty good though. They had the leaders of the NJ-ACLU, NOW, and GLAAD there. And I picked up a nifty lawn sign.

14. GODDAMN IT!!! Just leave them the f**k alone!
They're not asking for permission to lie in order to murder;
They're not asking for permission to con unwilling victims;
They're not asking for permission to engage in pedophilia;
They're not asking for permission to torture;
They're not asking for permission to raid the treasury and run up a $9 trillion debt;
They're not asking for permission to deny science the tools to cure disease;
They're not asking for permission to feel superior, smug, and self-important...

They want what the rest of us want: Happiness

In case we've forgotten, it's guaranteed in the US Constitution: "The pursuit of happiness..."

Two people (no more, so listen up you fundies in Utah) who want to share a life together, and raise a family if they so wish.

Leave them alone to do what the Constitution protects. There are much more pressing problems facing this Nation!!!

:rant:

Sorry for the uncharacteristic outburst, but I'm sooooo tired of this bullshit. If I've learned one thing from my 5 decades-plus on this planet, is that too much time, effort, and energy is wasted on "positions" that reek of intolerance, bigotry, and sanctimony. There's enough of that in the "private sector," let's keep in out of public policy.

Tonight, I'm going home and having a scotch (10-year, single malt)
