There is a ad out here with that creepy republicon voice that asks "what's in it for me?" and promises for new roads and freeways and no new taxes, and every time I hear it I can't stop thinking that it points out the problem with our politics. Everybody seems to ask that question instead of what we can do for others it seems like it crystallizes the selfish tone of the way our government works putting off the bills to our children and grandchildren by paying for things on a deficit spending.

1. It's not "everybody"
It's Republicans (and Libertarians). They are the party of "I got mine, screw everybody else". Democrats are the party of "let's make this work for everyone, because we're all in this together".
