Would anyone be suprised if bush announces today that dick is leaving? with all the investigations that can start now, do you think he really wants to stay?

They'll fix him up with an exit strategy from the coming humiliation.

6. Won't happen today, but you can be certain he'll step aside...

... "for health reasons" (wink-wink) in time to install a new VP/heir apparent for the 2008 presidential race.

They're not going to just give away the power of incumbency.

15. Jeb or George P
I've always feared one of those two would be "set-up" to take a turn.
However... I'd *really* like to think this country IS smarter than that!

18. My money is on McCain/Jeb in '08
meaning McCain will step in for Cheney sometime in the next year.

Although I do wonder if Arnold is going to be plugged in for '08 or if they'll save him for later.

14. He's quitting to go over to the dark side...oh wait...
he's already there, so I guess he's quitting to go to the deep dark side...ummm, nope, perhaps he's quitting because the dems are going to hold his feet to the fire and demand to know who was on the energy meetings.

24. Here's a couple of predictions ...
slow news day when Bush needs a distraction, Cheney will announce his resignation ... effective just after 1/21/2007 ... Bush will nominate Condascending Lies, er, Kindasleezy Bites, er, Condaleeza Rice ... making "history" by naming the first Black and Female VP (outside of Hollywood) ... stealing Nancy Pelosi's thunder ...

And somewhere in that same time frame, Rumsfeld will tender his third attempt at "resignation" (remember, he claims he tried to resign twice before) ... Bush will accept it on the condition that Joe Lieberman will accept the job, thus throwing the Senate into a 50-50 tie, leaving the "vice President" to cast the tie-breaker vote ... that's conditional on Webb managing to not get screwed in Virginia ... if Webb somehow, through evil macachinations (yes, I intentionally misspelled that), manages to lose the race, Lieberman's value to Bush will be nil ... relegated to being the "angry Dem" on Faux News ...

25. Still can be indicted
Remember Agnew...cheney can still be indicted and jailed.....and wouldn't it be just like bush to want to outdo the FIRST WOMAN SPEAKER by getting the republicans to appoint his "other" girlfriend rice as VP
