as the 1st Female Speaker of the House. May she never malign herself by currying favor with the malignant occupant of the Oval Office.

of what this middle name means. Nancy is not some white wine swilling California girl by birth or "San Francisco librul" housewife that the right wing is trying to paint her.

She's Tommy D'Alessandro's daughter!!! For those of you who don't know what that means, think "the Richard Daley" of Baltimore politics in the 1950's. This woman has hard nosed politics in her DNA and anybody who underestimates her is gonna be in for a quick lesson in D'Alessandro kick ass.

I've posted something similar from time to time.

She comes from a long line of populist, Dem-to-the-core, hardworking, successful politicians. There's a story, the dteails of which excape me at the moment, about how she, as a young kid, refused to shake someone's hand because she 'heard he was a Republican'.
