Wyoming residents happy with economy, approve of Bush, Cheney

However, the Bush administration approval ratings have dropped sharply since the 2004 election.
"I think the Iraq war is my biggest issue," said David Lind of Cheyenne. "I think the government spending in relation to the Iraq war is my second biggest issue."
Still, Wyoming was among five states of the 32 with exit polling that approve of the war in Iraq. The national poll shows voters disapprove of the war. Wyoming had the second highest approval rating for President Bush among the 32 states with exit polls. The poll, examining the views of the electorate, was conducted among 787 Wyoming residents for the AP and television networks by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International. Results were subject to a sampling error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
