didn't demand a recount? I thought there were several, was I mistaken?

2. You're mistaken

There have been no recounts in VA. There was some sort of canvass to double-check that all the precincts were counted as reported, but that's not the same as a recount.

It's my understanding that VA mostly uses electronic voting with no paper trail, so they can't really have any sort of recount anyway. Ironic that, eh?

3. yes, just a bit ironic. I had read somewhere (hee on DU, I think)

that the votes had been counted already 8 times, but, as you pointed out, no paper, so no point.
he was one of those who whined in 2000 about not wasting time on recounts, but needing to go forward.
