Clinton told the same pack of lies to Congress, and he undoubtedly got those lies from the same source. Naturally, people in the protective bubble known as "DC inside the beltway" would tend to believe something told them by two opposing administrations. They didn't agree on much, but they agreed on Saddam Hussein's WMDs. The only saving grace for Clinton was that he didn't order a ground invasion, even though he bombed that country repeatedly on the basis of this "intelligence."
No, folks, blaming Kerry, or even Bush, is not the answer. We need to find out who supplied these guys with the same tired pack of lies, and my guess is that we'll find them all occupying swanky offices in the Pentagon.
You and I had the leisure to surf the net and find out what the inspectors on the ground were saying about Hussein's ability to be a threat to anyone but his own people. Congressmen didn't. After this debacle, though, I'm sure they'll find time.
