It's the fault. of the Iraqi's..

The rhetoric has changed…I started to hear it this morning on the news and of course the right wing pundits have been saying the same. The mess in Iraq is the fault of the Iraqi people, in particular Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. As it turns out the Bushies think he is a “weak leader”…incapable of the leadership required to turn the war around.

Wait…Maliki was named Prime Minister by Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani in April following the parliamentary elections the previous December. (Remember all the purple fingers?)Weren’t the elections in Iraq “certified” by the Bush administration? This is a democratically elected parliament, president and prime minister. This is democracy in action and on the march…Wasn’t this the goal of the Bush administration? With Democracy sometimes you get "strong", sometimes you get a turkey who "gobbles the right gobble".

Now we find out Maliki is too weak…we need stronger leadership in Iraq to end the violence. Wasn’t that why we attacked to begin with? Wasn’t it Bush who thought that the leadership in Iraq was TOO strong…so we attacked to justify regime change?

I am so confused…… Can someone help me understand what we ae looking for?

1. There reallly is no understanding these hypocritical, doulble-talking...
dirtbags. They spin everything to their advantage regardless of whether it makes sense or not, just as long as they do no have to admit to failure.

2. I am glad you posted this...
...because every day the "policy" (and I use that term advisedly) coming out of DC is more and more confusing. IMO, it is like it is sound bites and they are justifying the invasion by any little bit of anything, the purple fingers being a great example ~~ until it goes FUBAR like the mess which is boiling up today.

IMO: All show and no go is the motto of the planners from BushCo viz Iraq. Sound bites and pic-ops. And more and more BULLSHIT.

I mean....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED was HOW long ago? And...today it looks like it (what the hell ever it is) not only fell the hell apart ~~ but is heading toward a major mess and crisis for the ENTIRE freaking region!

3. Of course it is! You see, "we gave them the gift of Freedom
to choose their destiny." They did. "We" simply don't like the choice.

What's intriguing to me about Bush's meeting with Maliki is...imagine if Maliki's answer to Bush's questions of "What's your solution? What's the plan, man?" were to be, "GET THE FUCK OUT!"

It's funny how Bush tells the world he 'will not pull out the troops until the mission is accomplished.' It wasn't that long ago he told the world the Iraq is a sovereign country and we're there at their invivation.

So, which is it? We're still welcome, or Bush decides when we leave?
