Russert Whistling Past The Grave Yard...

Tim Russert, on MSNBC with Mike Barnacle filling in for Matthews is telling us how the Bush Administration needs to step up and follow the Baker Report as well as work with the Democrats.

He's not the only pundit touting this line, but guess what? It ain't gonna happen! Bush will stay as long as he can in Iraq. This was confirmed today after Bush Spokesman said on implementing the Iraq Report: "Jim Baker Can Go Back To His Day Job..."

Bush won't change on his stance in Iraq and you can fill in your own list of reasons as well as I can.

I also think the Bush 41's crying was the tip of the iceberg. 41 went about it the nice way with the Baker Boys trying to convince Bush/Cheney that it's over. All it got was his hat handed to him.

Time for Daddy to play hardball. To save the country from this nightmare, Bush/Cheney must be impeached. Bush 41, for the good of the country, will go to Pelosi and tell her to impeach his son. It's coming.

As a Dad, who realizes what his son has done, will do what's necessary for the good of the family. In this case, the country. I can see it happening.

I do not think the Dems have the nachos to put the screws to Junior by cutting off funding and, quite frankly, that is their only leverage.

Investigations will begin in earnest, but we would have to impeach both Junior and Shooter to effect any real change. And I do not see 41 pushing Junior under the bus.

No siree, Bob. We are stuck in Iraq. I hold out very little hope we will extricate ourselves from that mess. I think the Dems have an eye on 2008 and are not willing to put politics aside to do the right thing, I am very sorry to say.

I agree with the crying jag assessment. Seemed to me he was feeling sad that Georgie didn't turn out as well as Jeb, not that Jeb is that much better. Still, Georgie is destroying absolutely everything and I don't think Poppy can allow it to continue much longer. They'll never whack him, so impeachment seems to be the only option. If the idiot won't do anything to truly affect a change, there just doesn't seem to be any other viable option.

Here's what I think is giving Republicans nightmares. They know there is no upside for them in letting Bush have his way until he leaves in 2009. The civil war is growing hotter by the minute. There are millions of armed insurgents, patriots, Shia, and Sunni's. While they may warring with each other now, they do have a common enemy...us. And they could, at any moment, focus their combined resources on driving us out. If our soldiers are sacrificed by Bush to maintain his delusion, I think the American voter is going to hold Bush and Congress accountable. I'm sure Democrats are going on the offensive in January. Republicans will have to decide if they are going to support what is good for America or Bush. The boy-king is in total denial and unwilling to admit his monumental failures. Tough choices await the Republican Congress.
