Senators Boxer, Obama say Pentagon to Investigate Mental Health (mis-)Treatment at Fort Carson, CO
After hearing Monday's reports from NPR, Senator Boxer, Senator Obama, and Republican Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond got together and collectively asked Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs William Winkenwerder to investigate the situation at Fort Carson Colorado.

2. investigationitis

it's possible to investigate yourself into legislative paralysis.

at some point (and this case clearly isn't it), the democratic leadership
needs to decide which investigations are worthy of the time and effort.

I am sure this regime is guilty of a multitude of potentially criminal
enterprises; it is important to identify the big ones, and hit them first.

3. I know this is going to be a little hard to get use to, but this is called "Congressional Over-site.
It's one of the Major things the Republican Congress has not been doing for most of the 12 years they were in charge, but is clearly part of their job.

It's almost amazing to think that the average 21-22 year old Collage graduate has little to no memory of a non-dysfunctional Congress, as they were only 9 or 10 years old when the Republicans took control of the House and even younger when most Americans thought the Congress was doing good and important work.

I'm 42. I remember what a real congress looked like. ;-)

but the scope of this mess is unprecedented in american history. my
only point is that we will likely have to pace ourselves, lest we wear
ourselves out in the first two years.

5. I completely agree. I do hope the do the really important work first...
...and don't let the RWer's in the MSM lead them around by their noses and dictate the agenda.
