So Jane Harman is out as head of House Judiciary Committee.
Heard on MSNBC today, and I've been out of town so don't know when this happened.
Can anyone give me the skinny on how or when this went down? It didn't make a blip on CNN Int'l.

Their wings clipped by the Iraq Study Group's report, the hawks who met with Bush included his pal Sen. Joseph Lieberman (Independent-Conn.), California Rep. Jane Harman, who lost her job as top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a 2008 presidential hopeful who wants to send more troops to Iraq.

3. The media whores also said Texas Rep. Silvestre Reyes,
Pelosi's choice, also supported this admin and the war. It's driving me crazy! I'm googling to figure it out, but it's amazing the dearth of stories at google news. Could be because it's old news?

Dec. 5. 2006 - In a surprise twist in the debate over Iraq, Rep. Silvestre Reyes, the soon-to-be chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said he wants to see an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 U.S. troops as part of a stepped up effort to “dismantle the militias.”

7. Thanks for that info. Seems like an odd choice in light of the
anti-war mood of Americans, so I'll wait and see if he's changed his tune.

John Conyers will be heading the Judiciary Committee.

8. Sadly, a very petty move by Pelosi
Jane Harman is one of the most knowledgeable members of Congress about military and intelligence and foreign relations.

Yes, she supported the war - so did most members of Congress at the time - based on the faulty intelligence.

It is too bad that Pelosi, before even taking her seat, has already chose personal preferences over competence in appointing her lieutenants.
