The picture of Kucinich shaking Bush*'s hand has mysteriously disappeared.
Look at this Google image search:

http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=kucinich+bush&btnG=Search+Images

On the top row you see a picture of Kucinich shaking Bush*'s hand. Click on it and you'll see that he removed it from his official House web site.

Why now?

That was Dennis' version of the Lieberman kiss.

1. Score one for Oasis
Too bad people that stood behind Bush at the Rose Garden in '02 haven't scored much lately. And I hope I mean in that in all senses.

Dennis' version of the Lieberman kiss?
I think not. I'm not bothered by it, and I voted for him in the 2004 primary and would vote for him again.

7. He shook Bush*'s hand when he should have been like the guy from Rage Against The Machine.
He should have been like "FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!"

You know that guy who I'm talking about, the lead singer, I think his name is Che Guevara or something.

9. Yes, i think that is a nonsensical comparison too. I would have had
no problem with Lieberman's physical embrace if it were followed by something other than support for some of Bush's most criminal policies.

5. I have no problem with anyone shaking Bush's hand...
Kucinich has been one of the very few to consistantly opposed Bush's policies.

That is the bottom line, not being cordial with bush as a person or not.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Dennis supports 8% of Bush*'s policies (flag burning amendment, for one).

16. He doesn't support Iraq burning, and that is very important.
though if Dennis supports the flag burning amendment that is very stupid.

Joe, however, not only has supported and supports this insane, illegal, war. Not only supported Bolton and Rummy (even beyond many Republicans) and not only supports torture but is even tepid in his support for women's right to choose abortion and many other things.

Not the same at all. One is polite convention and the other is fawning. Sorry, a handshake is expected in polite company but you never have to kiss anyone in this society.

17. No idea.
Maybe you should ask him. I was just there on his site, in fact still signed in. It is a new site because of his announcement today. It looks like quite a few of the older things have been removed. New election cycle with new things to address. The picture has been around, everyone has seen it and I am certain someone and probably many someones have that picture. If he was going to be ashamed of it he would never have done it. He functions differently than most of the every day run of the mill politicians.

and that guy makes Tom DeLay look moderate. Doesn't mean a thing. He happened to be a guest at an event I was a part of. DK has fought Bush tooth and nail every step of the way. If Kucinich is a Bush lover/enabler because of a handshake, then I guess everybody else is too.

23. This is kinda silly LoZ
I have shaken the hand of an awful lot of people that I personally do not care for. It is a simple greeting, performed in the interest of civility.

A hug however is a different animal altogether, especially when performed with such a beatific (orgasmic?) expression on the face.

I know how centrist you are. I know you don't care for DK much. There is no need for this level of disengenousness. It is beneath you.

28. Look more closely ...

Kucinich's website is:

http://kucinich.house.gov/

That link leads to:

http://www.house.gov/apps/list/hearing/oh10_kucinich/photo_020701_bush.html

All the pages in that directory are gone. All the pages under ".../hearing/" are password protected, which means nothing is currently there available for public consumption. Why now? This at least suggests some site maintenance is under way, possibly because of the end of this particular Congress and the coming of a new one. I have no idea what "hearing" this was. Whatever the case, changes to these websites are not unusual, especially during end-of-term.

42. Anyone who saw the video
of the Bush/Lieberman episode knows that Bush kissed Lieberman, not vice versa.
Lieberman was ambushed by a moron who couldn't fathom the political damage he was doing to his Iraq policy ally.
Just post the video to make the point. Why bother with this Kucinich non-sequitur?
We could spend all day posting photos of Bush shaking hands with Democrats. Even Ted Kennedy!

49. lieberman's kiss isn't significant in itself
but in the fact that it sums up the penchant of Sen. Lieberman to kiss up to Bush and the Republicans and to undermine the Democratic party, especially on the war.

Dennis' handshake has no such symbolism.
