1. So when are the Twins heading over to serve their country, George?
Take all the time you need, once your own kids are in harm's way, and every second you delay is another second their lives are in danger.

HYPOCRIT!

4. You took the words out of my mouth
Damn it, I know people over there and while he's "taking his time" deciding what the f*** to do, they could be killed. Not one member of the BFEE has sent anyone over there ... I just keep hearing Battle Axe Bar's comments after Katrina and it ENRAGES me that these f***ers never have to sacrifice adn have NO EMPATHY whatsoever for those who do.

30. True
Thats why we should wait and see. Besides, even if we have the right to criticize bush, we should at least give him the benefit of the doubt.

15. There is no impeachment, looming or otherwise.
Please name a Democratic leader who is now calling for immediate impeachment. "Immediate" meaning that if it was initiated in January there would probably not be a vote for conviction for another year. Impeachment without conviction does not mean much. The Watergate hearing and investigations led to the impending impeachment of Nixon and his probable conviction. Nixon knew this and so he resigned. The same could happen with Bush with investigations not tied to impeachment and could clearly put impeachment onto the table and make it not look like Democrats are playing politics.

20. Of course there is no call for "immediate" impeachment....
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 09:24 PM by bobbiejo
from the Dems...hence the wishful use of the word "perhaps" in my post. I use the term in this context because it represents one of the few possible (albeit weak) interventions and/or concepts that may be introduced in an effort to control an uncontrollable madman who has led us into a complete disaster.

Basically whatever it takes to get his attention, or at least the attention of those who would be negatively affected as a result, and who might be in a position to intervene.

Playing politics? Impeachment for oral sex was playing politics. People know the difference.....What it "looks like" is responsible leadership.

22. Umm, Clinton's impeachment was officially for lying under oath.
He could have simply told the truth and said that he had done it and it was none of their business since it was an act between consenting adults. Clinton handed them his own impeachment.

Edited on Thu Dec-14-06 03:59 PM by bobbiejo
Yes...of course for lying. I can see why the :sarcasm: thingy exists.
I assumed it wasn't necessary.....yes and I know the old saying about assuming.

You mean you can't impeach for having oral sex? :sarcasm:

28. I need to learn how to use that sarcasm thingy too.
It really is hard to tell at times here what people really think and mean. Over and over I see people post that Bush needs to be impeached like it is the be-all and end-all to everything. As many of us know and realize, impeachment without conviction is like a hug without a squeeze--not exactly what you were hoping for and ultimately unsatisfying.

16. Does this idiot really think we appreciate his stalling, that we
understand the importance of his slow, steady deliberation? He is too dumb to make any decision worth making, too stupid to know that the word views him as a dangerous joker and too stubborn to admit he is wrong. Reminds me of a little kid defense; when he realizes his position is wrong, digs in deeper, lies more often, ignores all advice. He is delusional.

might have to be careful to not think too fast, if at all, but 4 years is stretching the decision a little beyond even his sophomoric excuse level.

21. And why should the little prince be rushed. Over 100 Iraqis a day
are killed and over 25,000 American troops have been killed or wounded. Nope, let's let the decider take his sweet time in trying how to salvage an unsalvageable situation of his personal making. After all the only cost is human carnage, national reputation, and democratic principles. Remember this is hard. Especially if you are a lazy fool.

31. No doubt about it, he needs to go
Otherwise, we'll have another two years to look foward to these childish games while thousands more of our soldiers perish in this stupid-ass war.

I'm optimistic his impeachment will not take as long as Nixon's. You don't think our party's politicians have been counting the dozens of impeachable offenses this idiot has created the last six years? I don't even think it will be hard to get the Republicans on board since they aren't exactly blind to the fact that the Chimp is destroying their party.

No matter who takes his place, whether it be Pelosi or whatever Repub replaces Cheney, things can only get better because they certainly couldn't get worse.

39. We rushed to get into this mess... but any depth (or lack thereof) aside,
Bush has a point here. We need to analyze the situation and make the best move from there.

How do we convince a bunch of people whose country we invaded we want to make amends? Right now they're too busy killing us (and each other). How does one get them to stop killing and in turn act civilized?
