A not so bright, bloodthirsty megalomaniac who surrounded
himself with brutal men who earned his title as the worst Roman Emporer of all time...

Sounds like George W. Bush...

But it is Nero, described on one of the History Channels tonight...

GW, the Nero of The United States...

1. Come on, that's not fair at all
Nero won a war. And supported the arts.

2. I was thinking Caligula.........
But yes, Nero fits the bill nicely too..........

Especially the part (likely apocryphal, though) about fiddling while Rome burned......

Makes me think of NO and Katrina......

Lucky us to have such a person at the helm...

3. Well, sorta...
Especially the part (likely apocryphal, though) about fiddling while Rome burned......

I forget where I read it, but he actually played a lyre (fiddles hadn't been invented as yet) and sang about the Fall Of Troy. Apparently he was rather impressed by the size of the catastrophe.
Unlike another wannabe 'absolute ruler' :sarcasm: whose aides had to make a DVD of the disaster for him before he'd take notice, quit par-tayin' and come back from vacation...:puke:
