The Pentagon on Wednesday announced the deaths of two soldiers from Fort Carson’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team who were killed in separate Baghdad bombings.
Sgt. Jae Sik Moon of Levittown, Pa., died Christmas Day from wounds he suffered Dec. 14 when a roadside bomb detonated near his Humvee during a patrol. Spc. Elias Elias, of Glendora, Calif., died Dec. 23 after a bomb blast hit his Humvee.
Moon, 21, joined the Army in 2003 after graduating from Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, Pa.

Since the war began in 2003, Fort Carson has lost 179 soldiers, including 70 killed by roadside bombs. With 74 soldiers killed in Iraq including four since its return to war in October, the 2nd Brigade has suffered the highest casualties of any Fort Carson unit.
