The dreaded D WORD now on the rise...its becoming an issue, slowly the wheels turn....UP....!!
"To DRAFT or.... NOT TO DRAFT..."

That we even are at a point of.... discussing this .....is a sign..... all is not right....

The numbers speak for themselves....the way this Iraqi War is escalating/surging/zerging/increasing/etc....The Draft is making its way into many minds and conversations.....

Bush/GOP has brought us Americans to this point.....

To one side: The Draft makes it fair....all eligible will make a Force comprised of all ethnic/social/financial/economic levels

The other side says ..."No Draft....if ya can't use the Troops wisely and make it work....then ya got the wrong War Decisions to blame...."

Come, we go drink before heading for the Draft Board....

3. As a draft age American
I worry more about apes becoming our masters than I do a draft. Which is also tied into my fears of a draft, as we'd have to make a last stand against the apes, which would probably necessitate a draft.

Regardless of apes, nobody but Charlie Rangel is talking about a draft, and Charlie is just doing it to stick it to the crackers. Any politician to vote for it would be placing an electoral gun in their mouth.

7. I was drafted in 1969
No fun. More than once I have heard the argument that the draft makes things fair. No it doesn't. There's nothing fair about it.

8. This isn't a two sided issue
I can think of one angle you didn't even cover. There is a substantial portion of us out here willing to let the draft be discussed because we know that while an actual draft will never occur, the discussion of a possible draft will mobilize people against this war like nothing else will and we need those mobilized people to shut this war down!
