I am sick to death of The American Enterprise Institute
"Yes to the Surge? Or No? Or, okay, escalation. Have an opinion on this one? As we mentioned a while back, Sens. McCain and Lieberman are heading across town to the American Enterprise Institute on Friday to roll out their 'surge' plan to send a few tens of thousands more troops to Baghdad to crush the Mahdi Army. Make no mistake: this event is the official 'surge' roll-out.

Now it turns out that MoveOn is sponsoring a protest at the event at noon on Friday."

He goes on to explain that the American Enterprise Institute apparently hires "thugs" who manhandle protestors.

I am also sick to death of The Heritage Foundation.

I am sick to death of having MY country controlled by "think tanks". FUCK think tanks! Who the hell do these damn people think they are?? And why the hell are they allowed to control our government's actions?????

1. I'm tired of seeing them on C-Span.
They monopolize their air time, but nobody ever talks about it. I've tried calling in, but I can't get on the air with it.

2. Agreed, they are as insidious as the lobbyists...
which is, in fact, what they basically are. Right now I'm sure all of those repuke staffers that just got thrown out on their asses are lining up cushy jobs at these places, so their influence never really goes away. Even if we change the ethics laws for the lobbying industry, these assholes will still be around peddling their bullshit.

Georgie the little chimp boy has apparently expressed his desire to start a "think tank" when he retires. One shudders at the thought.

5. Why, what a surprise...
NOT!

Geez, repukes are always talking about "traitors" and "enemies of America". If ANYTHING ever filled that definition, the AEI and PNAC are IT!

4. A1 they think they are smaat and A2 they get to make policy because
they get funded to do this by the same corporations that control the 3 branches of government and the regulatory agencies.

6. Maybe it's time
to classify all non-profits who participate seek to influence policy as

LOBBYISTS

That is, make them report their activities in the same way as any other lobbyist, including

full disclosure of sources of revenue

It might include some other orgs like, Think Progress, Move-on etc., but what the hell, fair is fair.
