Oh Happy day

There is one day in the year where we can leave the old behind & embrace the new. On this day we get to stay up all night long hoping for better fortunes to come when the clock strikes midnight. Many of us get drunk hoping that we can forget the bad stuff of the year gone by & look to start the new one in a state of exuberance.

This year I partied harder than I have on any other year. The reason is that I was celebrating today. For today new hope will really arrive for the American people. Today we will for the first time have a Lady be the speaker of the house. Today, after 12 long years we will finally have a congress that is for the people. Today we will see the average joe on the street finally have a say in policy making. Today all lobbyist money of big business will be left in the lobby. Today we will see people canvas for a better living wage. Today we will see the wheels being put into motion to allow people in the future to be healed of their ailments. Today we will see the poor & elderly being given the opportunity to have lower drug costs. Today we will see the 9/11 commission finally have it's say in the safety of this country. Today we see record oil profits being used to help free us of our dependence on oil.

It was cloudy this morning here in Oklahoma. But the sun will be shinning bright for the first time 12 in years in the halls of congress. I will gladly give up all the sunshine here today to allow it to shine even brighter on Capitol Hill.
