Ethics Panel Fines Weldon, Feeney for Trips

The House ethics committee today imposed nearly $30,000 in fines on two Members for taking inappropriate, privately funded trips overseas as part of the long-running controversy about travel that arose from the Jack Abramoff scandal.

1. That is outrageous
Is justice ever served when it comes to the people in higher power? They should all be stripped of their roles & put on trial by a real court of law. If you had an employee who took a bribe from an outside source to sabotage his company: Will he be allowed to get of by just paying a fine? No! Firstly he would loose his job & the company would do everything to ensure his prosecution. These guys work for us, we are their employer they need to answer to us in a real trial.
