Charlie Rangel mentioned General Clark's possible candidacy on MSNBC
Edited on Thu Jan-04-07 11:25 AM by Sparkly
Speaking in support of Democrats who might be running, Rangel said he originally supported Wes Clark and has had some calls from him. "So he might be running, too," I believe he said.

Of course, Andrea Mitchell said nothing about that.

Probably THE FIRST time the General has been mentioned as a potential candidate on MSNBC. Thank you, Charlie Rangel!!

4. WHAT?
:wow: Charlie Rangel is being bad again!

Doesn't Charlie know that Wes Clark's name is only supposed to come up in print at the very end of a long list of 2nd tier potentials? He's gonna be in the doghouse for this!

12. She looks like that whenever something is said not scripted and approved by DC powerstructure.
;) Fortunately for Democrats, the pundits and insiders always get it wrong when they predict what will happen, and when they report on what they CLAIM is happening.

We will know soon enough!

"If" he does decide to run in a time of war when all who are current "frontrunners" are lacking in what it would really take for the task ahead, understand that there are many who will be ready and willing to do what it takes to combat the Corporate Media's decision as to who the eventual winner will be!

9. Andrea Mitchell's question had to do with his preference for Hillary vs. Obama
Nevermind that neither of them have announced! The MSM has their stories all cut out: Hillary vs. Obama, and Edwards emerges from their battle. That's what I keep hearing from them, day after day after day...

14. I love Charlie
So cool of him to bring Wes into the conversation when asked about Hillary and Obama, both of whom he could be expected to support for various reasons. But he still loves our General.

My favorite event of the Clark campaign in '04 was the official Rangel endorsement, held on a rainy morning in Harlem. Lots of energy in that room with Wes and Charlie. It's really great to see them together. I got an invite from his office for his swearing in ceremony in NY later this month...

I could live with a Clark/Rangel ticket in '08. :)

22. me too, I got to meet him at a luncheon in 2002
when he spoke here for Julia Carson's campaign that year. I had a choice, a luncheon where Rangel spoke or a luncheon where Holy Joe spoke -- talk about a no-brainer.

Clark-Rangel '08 ?? They are both a little more conservative than me but hell yah I'd vote for it...

16. oh...speaking of Wes and '08
...this snippet from Chuck Todd's current '08 rankings:

6. Joseph Biden, Christopher Dodd & Wesley Clark (last ranking: unranked)
A three-way tie between senior statesmen Biden, Dodd and retired Gen. Wesley Clark. One interesting thing about Obama's candidacy is that it opens up a vacuum in the primary. Follow this train of thought: Obama's inexperience highlights Clinton's relative inexperience, which highlights Edwards' inexperience, which leaves room for someone to play the "let's not go the Bush route again" card. And while Delaware's Biden, Connecticut's Dodd and Arkansas' Clark all have their flaws, all can claim uber-experience to actually do the president's job, and it's possible the Iowa caucus-goers may demand an experienced candidate in the mix.

Thank the Lord!!!

Someone who knows politics finally admitted Wes is uber-experienced.

I wish some people on this board would catch up with Chuck Todd.
