Warning: Bush is putting the military in charge of all Intelligence...
Just yesterday, Mr Bush flaunted the law once again and Congress and the Courts turned the other way. He had another of his signing statements. This time, he says he can open your mail or anyone's mail any damn time he chooses. There is a war on terror, don't you know?

And Negroponte is moving to the State Dept, Bush plans on replacing him with a military man. Since Defense Dept accumulates almost 80% of all intelligence already, this is a dangerous route to go. If the military is in charge of all intelligence and is being led by a malevolent leader such as we now have, what would be the chances for some stuff happening. Our government and our military is meant to be led by civilian leaders.

1. This truly is the worst, most evil administration in our history
These guys are Nazi's incarnate, make no mistake. I have no qualms using that analogy, because that is the route we're taking, even if it never leads to a gas chamber or oven.

7. They are setting up an intel push for an attack on Iran.
Last night I saw on the History channel yet another "Evil Nuclear Iran" story, which included the photos of the "Iranian nuclear sites" that we've seen before (in Iraq, Libya, Pakistan). Also the claim of ties between Iran (Shi'ite) and Al Queda (Sunni), when the truth is the Iranian clerics despised the Al Queda/Taliban regime on their border, and they closed their border when the US attacked Afghanistan.

On a connected note, I think the 'troop surge' is meant to tamp down expected repercussions from an attack on Iran.

We've got a lame duck president who has nothing to lose - unless he has some spectacular success somewhere he will go down as the worst president ever, so I fully expect some kind of Hail Mary from him.

Bush nominates top spy, moves Negroponte

By KATHERINE SHRADER, Associated Press Writer 26 minutes ago

WASHINGTON -
President Bush nominated an intelligence veteran, former National Security Agency Director Mike McConnell, to be the country's second national intelligence director. In a reshuffling of his national security team, Bush also chose his former top spymaster, John Negroponte, to be deputy secretary of state.

"Each of them will do good work in their new positions and it is vital that they take up their new responsibilities promptly," Bush said on Friday.
