I'm not a big Hillary fan, BUT
has anybody else seen this piece of drivel e-mail forwarded to my husband by one of his stupid right-wing high school girlfriends from Texas? Is there a response to this?

THIS WILL OPEN YOUR EYES! By Paul Harvey
>
Conveniently Forgotten Facts.
>
Back in 1969 a group of Black Panthers decided that a fellow black
panther named Alex Rackley needed to die. Rackley was suspected of disloyalty. Rackley was first tied to a chair. Once safely immobilized, his friends tortured him for hours by, among other things, pouring boiling water on him. When they got tired of torturing Rackley, Black Panther member, Warren Kimbo took Rackley outside and put a bullet in his head. Rackley's body was later found floating in a river about 25 miles north of New Haven, Connecticut.
>
Perhaps at this point you're curious as to what happened to these
Black Panthers? In 1977, that's only eight years later, only one of the
killers was still in jail. The shooter, Warren Kimbro, managed to get a scholarship to Harvard and became good friends with none other than Al Gore. He later became an assistant dean at an Eastern Connecticut State
College.
>
Isn't that something?
>
As a '60s radical you can pump a bullet into someone's head and a
few years later, in the same state, you can become an assistant
college dean! Only in America !
>
Erica Huggins was the woman who served the Panthers by boiling the
water for Mr. Rackley's torture. Some years later Ms. Huggins was elected to a California School Board.
>
How in the world do you think these killers got off so easily?
>
Maybe it was in some part due to the efforts of two people who
came to the defense of the Panthers. These two people actually went so far as to shut down Yale University with demonstrations in defense of the accused Black Panthers during their trial.
>
One of these people was none other than Bill Lan Lee. Mr. Lee, or Mr. Lan Lee, as the case may be, isn't a college dean. He isn't a member of a California School Board. He is now head of the United States Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, appointed by none other than Bill Clinton.
>
O.K., so who was the other Panther defender?
>
Is this other notable Panther defender now a school board member?
Is this other Panther apologist now an assistant college dean?
No,neither!
>
The other Panther defender was, like Lee, a radical law student at
Yale University at the time. She is now known as The "smartest woman in the world." She is none other than the Democratic senator from the State of New York----our former First Lady, the incredible Hillary Rodham Clinton.
>
And now, as Paul Harvey said; "You know the rest of the story".
>
Pass this on!
>
This deserves the widest possible press.
Also remember it, when, she runs for President.

I reminded my husband (who doesn't care for Hillary much and was kind of excited about this) that everybody deserves representation and that if Hillary and the other guy represented these people, they were just doing their jobs. But I don't know if any of this is even true.

I hate this kind of garbage.

9. OF COURSE, Snopes.
:slaps forehead: Why didn't I think of that? Thank you, everyone. I've sent the 'REAL' rest of the story to HullBoss in hopes that he'll forward it on to idiot girl, and maybe she'll stop sending him this crap.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

6. Didn't Hillary Support Goldwater in the Mid-60s?
Maybe that's apocryphal as well, but I seem to remember that.

12. That is true.
"In 1964 (at age 16) Hillary Rodham campaigned for Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Rodham_Clinton

At age 16 though and her dad was a conservative. I was a teenage Republican (until I was about 17) too. That hardly counts.

10. Whoever makes up this shit has issues or is getting paid
I am beginning to think there are a small and dedicated group of people in the latter paid by the GOP to constantly send out shit.

There is just too much of it.

11. I agree.
It gives me great pleasure to see this discredited. As I said, Hillary's not my favorite candidate, but I hate to see her get slimed almost as much as I hate it when it happens to John Kerry. It's why I think the Dems need to be as supportive of each other as possible to combat this kind of garbage.

18. I'm almost sure there is
And that there are paid trolls who are assigned blogs to disrupt. It's difficult to understand how a particular poster can show up out of the blue and then come back day after day, just to disrupt and suffer abuse at the same time. I mentioned this to a Dem staffer at one point, who almost too quickly agreed, as if it were common knowledge. I also believe there are people who post positive comments for products at places like Amazon, etc. Well I know there is because I do that sort of thing for my own clients on occasion.
