According to CSPAN, Nancy Pelosi has banned smoking in the Speaker's Lobby.

"John Boener could often be seen there smoking a cigarette."

7. i thought i heard some hint that this was in the works a while back

anyway, they may still smoke in their offices, which is more than most other people are permitted in dc, iirc.

I don't expect them to stand outside the back door of the Capitol next to the armed Capitol Hill Police with their AK-47.

It's a security concern of course....so this is an exception.
