And where might he plan on deploying them?

Gates recommends troop increase

ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON — U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said today that he would recommend to President Bush increasing the Army and Marine Corps by 92,000 troops over the next five years.

Gates said it remains unclear how long the “temporary” U.S. military buildup ordered by President Bush in Iraq will last.

But he said that the United States should know pretty soon whether Iraqis were living up to their part of the deal and increasing their own forces.

Gates spoke as the Bush administration worked to persuade a skeptical Democratic-led Congress to accept Bush’s troop buildup as the last best chance for reversing Iraq’s slide.

1. Does he expect Bush will still be around in five years?
Is that what the new White House Counsel is going to advise?

Declare Martial Law and cancel the 2008 elections?

2. There are valid reasons to increase the force

before you kick me folks....

But, here is the serious problem

They are having a hell of a time meeting recruitment quotas, care to tell me when or how they are going to meet them?

It is feeling drafty

(oh and some of those valid reasons... it is called strategic reserve)

3. Oh, hell no.
Bitch McConnell says the Republicans plan to filibuster the Dems' toothless "we disagree" nonbinding proposal.

It's go-time. Hardball. They must be stopped NOW.
