Poll question: Iran: yes or no?
Il Dunce is doing his sabre rattling about Iran, and maybe Syria. But I see a lot of push-back. In fact, I can imagine a set of circumstances that if he decides to just do it and then claim war powers, that could lead to a very fast impeachment.

Personally, I don't think we'll go into Iran.

What do you think?

1. I would have voted yes we were until some of the repug senators
started saying NO... Bush would be in major problems with his party if he goes and it costs lots of American lives.

3. They will orchestrate
it to look like Iran's fault or we will suffer heavy casualties on the onset and this will allow our corporate owned politicians to fall back behind the nazi war chimp.

2. Iran will play nice no matter how much the Bushites provoke them.
PS: I sure hope I am right.

6. If Scarborough is talking about war with Iran...

I suspect the *Admin is trying to build up some noise prior to some sort of heinous action within Iraq and then have people thinking, "well at least we didn't go into Iran"

7. I think it's a done deal now. The Iranians fucked up by disregarding UNR 1737.

8. No. Iraq has been too much of a catastrophic failure.
They can't do it politically or militarily.

9. My suspicion is that they're ginning up a case to press Europe for economic sanctions
You're right that directly attacking Iran would be economic suicide. But if they can find anything in all those papers they've seized to show Iran is involved in the Shiite insurgency, they'll trumpet it to high heaven and justify going after Iranians in Iraq, shutting down the border, disrupt the oil deals Iraq has already cut with iran, and push for economic sanctions against Tehran.

I once saw a belligerent drunk get his ass kicked out front of a bar once. Then he stumbled back in, still spoiling for a fight and too bashed up & sodden to realize he'd already lost once and was in no shape for further fighting. Trying, I suppose, to prove he was still a man, he got pushy with a short little guy, who just pushed the drunk down onto the floor and went back to drinking. Anyway, I saw that once, and now I guess I'm seeing it happen again.
