I don't think **** should be impeached...
It takes too long and in the process he will surely ruin the world. He and his henchmen should be forced to RESIGN NOW. Get out, go away, move to Paraguay, whatever. Leave us to try and rehabilitate ourselves on the world stage. Leave us to try and repair some of the immeasurable damage you have done. Just get the hell out. Go away. I can't stand to look at any of you, can't stand to listen to any of you and I don't believe a word you say. Go, now! We can figure out what to do. Whatever it is we do, nothing could be worse than letting you continue your ruinous course.

1. I so Agree
My theory is the Republicans with Dem help will force them to resign.
They may not be able to tolerate the idea of President Pelosi but quite frankly this is entirely
possible and of course since we're living in a world where truth really is so much stranger than
fiction there is a possibility that this could happen.

3. Huh? Impeachment IS how you force a president to resign.
Edited on Sat Jan-13-07 09:53 AM by ocelot
Impeachment isn't the act of removing a president from office; it's the equivalent of a probable cause hearing in criminal law. As with Watergate, an investigation takes place; then, based on that evidence, the House presents a bill of impeachment, which is just the accusation. Nixon resigned when he saw that the House was about to impeach him -- he was never even tried by the Senate. If the Senate convicts the president of the acts listed in the bill of impeachment, then he is removed from office. And yes, it does take a long time. However, unless the impeachment process is started, and Bush, like Nixon, realizes he is likely eventually to be tried and convicted by the Senate, there is no chance in the world he will resign because there is no other way to force a president to resign.

5. Actually, the probability of being judged guilty by the Senate but yes
it begins with the investigations that inable articles of impeachment to be specified.

But judging a probability requires some ability to correctly percieve that probability. Bush and Cheney are deluded. Bush thinks God is with him. and Cheney thinks he is beyond the reach of the Congress.

7. Exactly. It's hard to believe that more people don't realize this.

I just can't figure out how they think that not impeaching Bush is good. Clinton got impeached and the Republicans ended up with two successive terms in the White House, one of them with total control of government. Yeah, impeaching Clinton sure hurt them.

I'm confident that, once impeached (and it only takes a one vote majority in the House to do so), Bush would resign...just from the THREAT of possible conviction.

8. I agree, but
how, exactly, do we force them out? What's our leverage? They are n ot going to simply go away on our sayso. Especially as so many of us are just waiting to get them out to send them to the Hague.
