Georgia enforcing uniquely christian only holiday
question:

Is it because the Christian holy day,
is more holy than the Jewish Sabbath?

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue
and Christian coalition leader
Sadie fields, who both oppose Sunday beer sales,
are either ignorant of their own Christian doctrine
or, they are knowingly trying to continue enforcement
of a Christian observance (Sunday) on all Georgians-including
Jews and non Christians.
.
Sunday is not the Sabbath; it is the first day of the week when Jesus rose from the tomb.
Thus, Sunday is called the Lord's Day in the New Testament-not the Sabbath.
.
The Sabbath is the Old Testament day of rest,
which begins at sundown Friday and continues until sun down Saturday.

Why not prohibit the sale of beer and wine on the Sabbath
day instead of the uniquely Christian "Lord’s Day"? (Sunday)

No other religion except Christianity designates Sunday
as its day of worship-thus when a state enforces sunday observances,
they are establishing a specific religion-rather than including all religions.

The Christian Coalition says they don’t want to legislate their specific religion
but, their actions suggest otherwise.

1. Interesting question, Stranger.
In Arizona, you can't buy liquor until noon on Sunday. I'm not much of a drinker, nor am I religious, so, I've never really pondered on the subject much. I'm looking forward to reading some interesting answers.

2. The last time I was in Atlanta
you could go to a bar and drink but you couldn't buy a six pack to take back to your hotel. So, if you want a drink, drive to a bar. Now that makes a lot of sense.:eyes:

4. the chriitian coalition wants to mandate observance of a christian holiday
what i am trying to get at is this:

Sunday is a uniquely Christian holiday=("holy day")

therefore; making people observe it by refraining
from certain activities ought to be unconstituional
because it established a SPECIFIC religion's holy day that we must
treat differntly than say the sabbath-which is a Jewish holy day.

This also shows the christian coalition does indeed want to establish THEIR
religion over other religions with Christian specific legislation.
