Are members here actually going to watch the SOTU address?
If you are, why? I'm not because I just can't stomach it anymore. As far as I am concerned Washington politics is a waste because the longer these war criminals are allowed these types of amenities, the more turned off to the entire process I become. There is absolutely NOTHING this__ can say to impress me, especailly with the phony sideshows they always put on with their "guests" in the gallery. Spare me. The cable news channels need to be shown a message and that would be by not watching his obvious attempt to save his butt. It is ALWAYS about him and his benefactors and not this country, and I'm sick of it.

13. Me three
Also, I want to see how tepid a response RatBastard gets from the majority Dems. Also Webb's response will hopefully be impassioned and make quite a counterpoint to the stumbling ChimpInChief.

Kinda like watching a train wreck. It's a sick impulse, but there it is...

Oh, and THIS TIME, we get to see our beloved Madame Speaker seated right behind the moronic little chimpster. What a lovely addition she will be.

than just get other people's perceptions of them.

Also, I'm curious to see how the Democrats and the repubs handle the situation in terms of the amount of applause, standing ovations, etc.

Finally, I'm interested in politics (which, I suppose, is why I post on a discussion group entitled "Politics". D'uh.

19. Normally, I'd agree with you, but not this year--it is truly historic
With Bush* at his lowest ebb, breaking revelations about Cheney and his henchmen, a visibly hostile public translating to at least a somewhat hostile Congress, and the first ever woman and Democratic Speaker of the House seated right behind him.

I also like to study human psychology.....Bush* is a textbook example of a sociopathic narcissist.

20. My poor daughter
has been assigned watching the SOTU address as part of her English class. She's watching for rhetorical usage. The least I can do is watch with her...maybe protect her a little from the waves of stupidity that will be rolling off the tv.
