"As Commander in Chief he has the power......"
Anyone notice that the Bush sympathizers are calling George the "Commander in Chief" in lieu of the President?
Of course the Commander in Chief commands more power that just the President.
When I hear "Commander in Chief" I automatically stand up and salute the Dr. Strangelove salute. SIEG HEIL!!

1. Well, everyone knows he's not legitimately the president...
But yeah, I've started noticing that too. It does give off both a militarisitc and above-the-law vibe.

2. I think you have it backwards:

The office of the President includes the office of the Commander-in-Chief, not vice versa. In other words, the C-in-C role is a part of the larger Presidential role.

Edit: NEVERMIND:) I misunderstood what you meant by: "commands more power". Please, disregard:)

3. CIC is sworn to "preserve, protect, defend the Constitution..."
* doesn't do that ! He's busy decimating it and shedding it. I anticipate the rewrite soon.

4. Emperor
Commander and chief is derived from the original latin "imprimatur" i.e; EMPEROR. Unfortunately shrub the ass-clown is no Ceaser or Napoleon. More like a Nero fiddling while the world burns.
