Kerry 2012!!!!!!!!
Yep, don't think you have seen the end of Senator Kerry! You don't have him to kick around now. Nope, he won't be around in 2008 for President for all you anti-Kerry zellots to attack, but never, never count him out.
As for me, I am going to find another way to pursue the issues that are near and dear to Kerry's heart. I am convinced there won't be real party change or change of any kind until many of those who hold the power now are gone. I am going to find a way to work outside the current party structure and to be a thorn in the side of those who pander and play poltics with peoples lives.

God Bless you Senator Kerry, You are the very definition of a true statesman and patriot. The Democratic party could do with just about fifty other senators just like you.

Kerry 2012, yep! till then you won't have him to bash anymore.

17. We will win in 2008
the Democratic nominee for President is the next President of the United States..No doubt..This year is even more definite than the election of 1932..This President has guaranteed that a Democrat will occupy the White House as of Jan 20 2009..
Kerry had much more to factor n his decision this time with his Senate race..What really aggravates me is that he won in 2004 and the Republicans once again were able to change the course of history with the 2004 election theft that will take a generation to mend.

It is a good and honorable thing that he has decided to stay where he is most needed.

44. Hearing JK's decision made me deeply sad, and cry. (A depth of sadness I rarely feel.)
To me (and many of us) JK was a once-in-a-generation "golden" Prez. choice...that sadly many never TRULY understood.

I realize JK wishes to retain his Senate seat, but if he does NOT run NOW...he almost certainly will NOT run in 2012. Campaigning schedules are gruelling, and the older a candidate gets, the more one naturally hesitates...particularly if one's Prez-campaigned before exhaustively (at a younger age).

The reality of which makes me overwhelmingly sad.

Guess I won't be voting in '08. Took me 20+ years to find a candidate I truly believed in, and JK was THAT for me. (Sigh. Politics" in the 'real' world.)

50. I understand what you're saying. People around me don't get it.
They probably never will. Even the county Dems I meet with every month. One in particular keeps spouting RW points at me about how Kerry never sponsored bills and such. I could just slap her sometimes.

Kerry was my first real candidate. The first one I ever properly worked for. I'll vote in 08, but I have no fucking clue for whom I will be voting.

Meanwhile, I will continue to have Sen. Kerry's back, wherever he decides to go. If I get a call, I will donate. I will sign his petitions. I will suggest his name for AG or SoS. The fact that he's not running for president doesn't mean I am no longer a supporter of his. I reckon I always will be.

11. I hope whoever is the nominee wins.
We cannot afford 4 more years of a GOP administration.

However, let me tell you that the attitude of some Clinton's supporters today (or self-claimed Clinton supporters) do not help Kerry supporters accept the idea she may be the nominee easily. This may explain a few of the excessive threads you have seen.

who supports America, and whats best for America!

Hillary Clinton isn't whats best for America. She has no better of a chance then Obama or Edwards does, and the only thing you can use to say otherwise is point to NATIONAL polls showing her 'leading'

Tell me, who is leading where it matters? Wasn't Hillary fourth in one? If my memory serves correctly....

Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 06:23 PM by SaveElmer
To withstand, and indeed thrive, as the result of the sleaze thrown at Presidential candidates by the Republicans...having had to deal with it for 16 years. Every time they attack, she gets stronger...no current candidate in the race as anywhere near the experience Hillary has had with this...and given the poor campaigns run by Kerry, Gore and of course Dukakis, this experience is vital.

Current polls only tell you who is leading now...says nothing about 21 months from now...I never claimed it did. However, she is currently well ahead in national polls, the only Democrat leading both McCain and Guiliani. The poll that showed her fourth was in Iowa, where she has not campaigned...and even still was tied with the Governor of that state, and only 8 points behind leader Edwards...

As I recall Dean was leading in Iowa up to the end four years ago...so we will see...

However, if you wish to bury your head in the sand and convince yourself Hillary is not popular with Democrats, be my guest, it will make her road to the White House all the easier!

34. I held my tongue when you called Hillary a POS,
which was very offensive. Now that Kerry has chosen not to run, you continue to stir it up!!

This is not productive!

Have you ever considered Kerry for a cabinet position in 2008, instead of bashing other people's favored cadidate's?

Why not try to listen to other people's opinion's that are different from yours, they have very valid and insightful POV's?

I don't believe anyone here hates Kerry, they are just tired of the 1-sided debate and flames.

37. I apologized for the POS remark, but she stabbed Kerry in the back.
That said, she has made a lot of promises to a lot of people just to get their support. I don't hold out hope for an appointment for Kerry. I don't think he does either. She is a politician through and through and only a shell of a person. And, you are mistaken if you don't think people here hate Kerry, they do.

I do listen to others POV. I have listened enough to Hillary to know I don't like her as a person and as a leader.

42. Apology accepted. When I see some of the
Kerry threads, I am able to view them through a neutral eye, and see both sides.

My observation has been that you are sometimes blinded by your complete bias for Kerry that you fail to hear the other side. This has not served your cause well.

Ask yourself, what have you accomplished? You have made no converts in your effort, of course it is irrelevent now, but, IMO you really need to work on your approach with people.

Do you want an actual dialogue with people or do you just want to jam your point of view down our throats?

I have never seen you talk of Kerry's responsibility for his own mistakes. It's always someone else's fault.
You lose credibility when you take on that "Kerry can do no wrong" attitude. You are seen as a zealot because there seems to be no objectivity.

And I still believe people do not hate Kerry, they just hate all the bickering, but, you are entitled to your own POV.

I know you are feeling disappointed now, as many people are, but life goes on and I hope you will focus your energy and very impressive commitment on more positive goals for our party.

And as far as Hillary goes, I think most of us know where you stand on her. When you are feeling better, I hope you will try to keep an open mind!

45. I never felt Kerry was perfect, he also didn't run as bad a campaign as
people claim. I have grave concerns about another Clinton run. I also had my concerns about her cemented when she was the only candidate to come out and stab Kerry in the back when she knew damn well what he meant. She played right into the republican hands. Sorry, but I see that as selfish self-interest.
Yes, I have made my opinions of Senator Clinton known and I have no intentions of voting for her and intend on working against her election in the primaries. I am in a position to have some influence over voters.
I will however, not say another thing about her in DU. I have said all I intend too.
I will maintain an open mind about other candidates, but Clinton will not be one of them.

Whomever you choose to support, I hope that you do not denegrate other favored candidates to make your point, it just creates bad blood and serves no useful purpose.
