Poll question: What is John Edward's greatest drawback as a presidential candidate?

For the record, I think he has a better shot than Obama or Hillary of getting the nomination, simply because he's a "safer" candidate. He's not a bad guy, but not my first choice.

As always, feel free to add anything I've left out.

5. Maybe it's his creepy grin and shiney hair. He looks like a televangelist.

I know it's not a political point but there is something about him. Oh and that he's an intelligent lawyer and he wouldn't kick cheney's butt during a debate.

He should know by now that the opposition in Presidential campaigns are ruthless, nasty, mean people who wouldcheat, lie, slander, or whatever else it would take to get rid of their opponents. Johnseems to want to play by the rules, and that just doesn't win anymore!

will sound like old news to some people who remember him from Kerry/Edwards. However, I like Edwards a lot, would vote for him in a primary, he was my 2nd choice (after Clark) in '04, I admire his life's work, and I think he is one of the best orators since Jesse Jackson at the Dem Convention in '84.

Lighten up, it's still too early to be worried about the right wing's talking points--and anyway, they probably don't need to take any cues from a mere DU poster to bash a Democrat. Personally, I'm just curious.

17. RW doesn't look to DU for "TP" it gets them from RW Think Tanks

with Ph.D degrees who crank them out and are aided by the RW Christian Evangelicals who do the work the Think Tanks don't want to dirty their hands with.

13. I feel that he is dangerously inexperienced.

He was a huge supporter of the decision to invade Iraq, and his current repudiation of his past position does not absolve him IMO, and it doesn't alter the fact that he demonstrated appallingly bad judgment. Now he appears to be making aggressive noises about Iran. I am extremely disturbed at the thought of what he might do if he were in a position of genuine power.

I know I'm going to get accused of being one of those nasty Clarkies who's always attacking Edwards, but the truth is that I almost never post anything about him. I do feel that I have the right to respond with my honest answer to an honest question.

15. Lotsa charm and superb PR and electoral strategy,

but no real substantial trail to demonstrate sincerity on issues that he's passionate about now until after he decided to become President. Leaves the scent of an unauthentic smooth talking politician.
