Tester Gives Glimpse Into Days on Hill...
Finding freshman Sen. Jon Tester isn't very hard these days. Just check his Web site. It'll tell you whether he's been in the Senate gym, at dinner with his wife, or meeting with interest groups from his home state of Montana. Tester's daily schedules are available in an online archive, fulfilling a promise the Democrat made in his campaign against Republican Sen. Conrad Burns last year. Burns attracted heat for his relationship with Washington interests - most notably convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff - and ethics became a central issue.

"It gives people better access to what I am doing," Tester said.

His schedule, posted at the end of each business day, includes details about how he spends his personal time. Among the activities: dinners with wife Sharla and trips to the members-only Senate gym (Tester says he is trying to lose weight to fit into a new suit).

Is it strange for people to know his every move?...

1. Welcome to DU!
Oh, who knows? At least it shows he's very conscious of the importance of accountability.

4. That's really cool
I like Tester, he seems like a really good guy. :) I was glad to see him elected (and to see him sworn in in the same group as Jim Webb was just great!). :loveya: Thanks for posting this!

5. I wish our "President" would do the same!
His would have few only necessary meetings and the rest of his time would be biking, swimming, napping, campaigning, visiting KKKrove to find out his latest plot and visiting Cheney to get reassurance he's doing a good job and we're winning...then it's off to bed after he says his prayers and asks God for forgiveness for being responsible for so much destruction and DEATHS and thefts in this world.

6. Good! Our New Dems know how to BLOG to Connect with their Voters
and the broader voting public at large! GOOD ON THEM! I saw Tester at Senate Hearing on Credit Card Abuse on C-Span. He was very impressive connecting the problem of "abuse of credit card mailings" to problems his own kids had and his worries about young Americans being sucked into Credit Card Dept for the rest of their lives.

He didn't bloviate or spend time applauding his other Senators for allowing him to speak, but he was respectful yet VERY PROBING for a Freshman Senator who just got his first chance to speak.

It was good...and I never paid much attention to him..because I'm Southeast State...and figured he would be a DINO! But, on Credit Card issue he was very, very good.

:applause" to him for his Freshman Debut...it was a good one..imho.
